  • 白い生地に蝋で線だけ描きます。　黒く見えるところだけ黒い染料で塗ります。その後お湯で煮て蝋を取り除いた後　全部を墨汁で染めなおします。
  • 生地を乾かす過程で墨色は黒からグレーに変わります。
  • 黒い染料も墨汁が混ざり　真っ黒より深い黒色になっています。

  • Sumi ink Batik
  • Wax Lines are drawn on white fabric. Only the areas that appear black are painted with black dye. The fabrik is then boiled in hot water to remove the wax, and entire fabric is deyd again with sumi ink.
  • As the fabric dries, the sumi ink color changes from black to gray.
  • The black dye blends with the sumi ink, creating a deeper black than pure black.
