  • 白い生地に蝋で線を描いたり　模様を蝋で括って描いています。
  • 蝋の線の内側だけ青色で塗り　その他の全体を濃い青色で塗っています。
  • お湯で煮て蝋を取り除くと、蝋で括った部分が白く抜けて模様になります。
  • 蝋を取り除いた部分は、染料の加減や染織の技法によって、白から淡い色合い迄表情が変わります。

  • Wax lines are drawn on white fabric to outline the patterns.
  • The areas inside the wax lines are painted blue,while the rest of the fabric is dyed dark blue.
  • The fabric is then boiled in hot water to remove the wax.The areas coverd by wax resist the dye and form white patterns.
  • Some areas may remain pure white,while others may take on a slightly lighter tint depending on the dye concentration and the dyeing process.
